Philosophy at Play

We are really pleased to announce the third Philosophy at Play conference will be held on 9 and 10 June 2015 programme and full list of abstract authors and titles...

Following two successful Philosophy at Play conferences, we are pleased the third biennial conference will be held at University of Gloucestershire, UK on 9th and 10th June 2015. The academic committee have reviewed all submitted abstracts and we are pleased to announce our final 21 papers. These paper are from such a diverse bunch of philosophers, play specialists, artists and designers from 14 different countries! Some consider the work of specific philosophers (European, Chinese, Indian); others look at play and art (aesthetics); others at being and becoming (ontology) or at other philosophical issues of metaphysics and ethics. Some look specifically at children's play (and adults' engagement with this); others at topics such as play and the internet, play and resistance, and the history of play.
