Journal of Playwork Practice: First issue of 2016 now out, with a section on the Second Research Seminar

Journal of Playwork Practice (JPP), published in association with Common Threads, is a journal which aims to advance the study and practice of playwork practice. It is the first academic journal in the playwork field and provides an international platform for the publication and dissemination of scholarship relevant to playwork practice, from contemporary and historical perspectives and from all aspects of theory, philosophy and policy.  The journal is available as a print journal with an online version.

The  first issue of 2016 now been published and  includes a section reporting on the the second JPP research seminar, on the theme of 'Research and the birth of playwork practice', which saw academics and playwork practitioners from around the world considering relationships between playwork practice (particularly on adventure playgrounds) and research processes and methodologies. As the practitioner section reflects, a wide range of topics were covered, which evoked a variety of responses in the seminar attendees, both in terms of research and practice.
